I received a phone call from Toby Warren and he followed up with a copy of the treatise,
A General's Spiritual Journey Lt. Gen. Hal Moore (Ret.)

After hearing Toby's story, I asked him to send me an email that would cover his questions so that I could post a notice to our members.  If you have any questions or comments for Toby, please feel free to contact him directly.

Terry Wessels
==============================================================

Good morning Terry,

You were so kind to listen to my story and I truly thank you for caring.

Gen. Moore

He is a three-star, military hero, author of New York Times #1 Best Seller - We Were Soldiers Once... and Young, subject of movie - We Were Soldiers, with Mel Gibson playing his life, author of new 2008 book published by Harper Collins - We Are Soldiers... Still.
He is Catholic and actually listed in a category FAMOUS CATHLICS (Celebrity Catholics, Influential Catholics, Well Known Catholics) and there is a webpage on Hal Moore.  He has been interviewed several times by EWTN and Raymond Arroyo.  He speaks on leadership in America and is represented by Wm Morris in NY and is asked 12 to 15 times a year by corporate America to speak at $25,000 per speech.  He is 85 years old and in excellent health.  He and I are neighbors and live in Auburn, Al. and are members of St. Michael's Catholic Church.

A General's Spiritual Journey

This 60 page treatise was to be a gift from me to Gen. Moore and his five adult children.  It is all about the stories he has shared with me privately as I drive him to certain places.  These stories are all spiritual experiences in his life and the importance of faith and God all throughout his life.  The draft was shared with him in early August, and he said, "If this will help save one more soul, let's do it!"  Today, it has been edited, with photos and the remarks from others have been truly emotional and exciting.  Gen. Moore is on the cover, on his knees, in prayer at the Ft. Benning Cemetery as his wife's grave.  Suddenly, overnight, my phone is ringing for copies.  Operation Gratitude, in Los Angeles, sends hundreds of thousands of care packages to American troops in Iraq.  See www,operationgratitude.com.
The founder, Carolyn Blashek (lawyer and jewish), has fallen in love with the treatise.  She requested 70,000 be sent in their Christmas package on Dec. 12 to 70,000 specific soldiers in Iraq.  The deal is done and they wish for all soldiers to read this during their holiday season while not returning home.  Another 80,000 are in print for the marketplace, for whomever may wish to offer it to their audiences or customers.  Gen. Moore and his "driver" are not to receive one penny from this work.

Summary Thoughts

Terry, I think it best that I send to you overnight a draft presentation of JOURNEY.  Am making decisions about publisher, distributor, etc. --- pr folks are truly excited about this work because of message and who the messenger is - Hal Moore.  I am not attempting to over represent this in any way and it may very well not be of the standards that your members may have.  But I can tell you, if men and women are so moved as they are, if the jewish faith is also, the universal appeal of this small treatise through Gen. Moore's voice about spirituality just may be worthy of your membership fasttracking this work for the holiday season.  If I have overstepped boundaries here, please dismiss my email.  But it is wisdom that I need and I just hope someone will care enough about this work as Gen. Moore does about our soldiers in harms way.  EWTN has requested the treatise to review for possible interview of Gen. Moore in the future.

Thank you for considering my off the wall request and Gen. Moore thanks you also!!!!  Draft copy in route to you.  Hope this helps you.  The last webpage is the Famous Catholics page.

I am working in the prop department of a Meryl Streep movie being filmed in New York. It's set in a Catholic school in 1964. I have a question that I can not resolve and was hoping that you might help me.

The director maintains that at the time Catholic schools would have used US history textbooks written specifically for their use. Others say that Catholic schools would use the same textbook as a public, lay school. What do you think?

In addition, I an trying to find multiples (10 to 24 each) of vintage textbooks that would have been used at the time. I think the books could have a copyright date ranging anywhere from 1950 to 1963.

If any members have thoughts or suggestions as to where to look it would be much appreciated.
